Location: Savuti, Botswana For days I had been visiting this waterhole in Savuti. This particular evening as the light was falling a jackal was busy hunting the many doves that frequented the waterhole. Sharing the waterhole with many elephants that had been in attendance daily. I had been striving to catch an image that captured both species with a different perspective. I was attracted to how small the jackals were in relation to the huge elephant bulls and here I was granted the opportunity to capture a shot I had envisaged. For a brief moment the jackal ran between the legs of several bull elephants, and was dwarfed by their huge mass. The light was stunning with a striking backlight, amplified by the dust caused by the movement of the elephants. ISO 100, 500mm, F4. 1/500s Nikon D500 DLSR & Nikon AFS Nikkor 500mm F4E FL ED VR
