While photographing in a hide in Zimanga Private Game Reserve, we spotted a small Squacco Heron flying towards us and landing on the edge of a lagoon. A few minutes after he landed, another bird landed close by and gave him a fright. I initially didn’t see his wings opening through my viewfinder as he tried to get away from the landing bird, but while reviewing my images, I was glad he did!
